Drive northwest through Rwanda's famous rolling hills — the 'Land of a Thousand Hills' — with stunning panoramic views of terraced hillsides and volcanic peaks. Arrive at your lodge near Volcanoes National Park. Evening briefing about tomorrow's gorilla trek.

Report to park headquarters at 7:00 AM. Trek into the dense, misty bamboo forests and volcanic slopes of the Virunga Mountains. When you find the gorilla family, spend one magical hour observing silverbacks, mothers with babies, and playful juveniles. Optional afternoon Golden Monkey trekking. Evening cultural village visit for traditional Intore dance performances.
