Day-by-Day Itinerary
Drive north through the scenic Kenya Highlands to Lake Nakuru National Park. This compact park is a rhino sanctuary — one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos. Afternoon game drive around the alkaline lake shores where thousands of flamingos create a stunning pink shoreline. Spot Rothschild's giraffe, buffalo herds, and leopards in fever trees.
Morning game drive in Nakuru. After breakfast, drive to the freshwater Lake Naivasha. Afternoon boat ride gliding past hippo pods and fish eagles. Walk freely among zebra, giraffe, and wildebeest on Crescent Island — a unique unfenced wildlife sanctuary.
Drive south to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Afternoon game drive among giant elephant herds with Africa's highest peak as the backdrop — the most photographed view in African safari. Visit Observation Hill for a breathtaking sunset panorama.
Full day game drives across marshes, dry lake beds, and open plains with continuous Kilimanjaro views. The swamps attract incredible concentrations of elephants, hippos, and buffalo. Search for lions, cheetahs, and over 400 bird species.
Morning game drive for final Amboseli sightings. Drive to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive by late afternoon. Evening game drive on the vast golden plains — the Mara's incredible wildlife density is immediately apparent.
Full day Big Five game drives. Visit the Mara River for hippo and crocodile encounters. Track lion prides, search for leopards in riverside trees, and during migration season witness dramatic wildebeest crossings. Bush picnic lunch. Optional balloon safari at sunrise ($450). Sundowner cocktails watching the spectacular Mara sunset.
Final morning game drive at sunrise for last wildlife encounters. Return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and drive back to Nairobi arriving by late afternoon. Drop-off at hotel or JKIA airport.
